Important visa conditions
- No work: you cannot work on a visitor visa. For short-term specialist work, apply for the Temporary Work (Short Stay Specialist) visa subclass 400.
- Short study only: informal study or training of up to 3 months is allowed.
- Genuine visitor: you must intend to visit temporarily and have enough funds to support your stay.
- Health and character: you must meet health and character requirements; travel health insurance is strongly recommended.
Sponsored family, business and ADS streams
Sponsored Family stream
For visitors sponsored by an eligible family member or close relative living in Australia. Stay up to 12 months. The sponsor may be asked to pay a security bond, and you must apply from outside Australia.
Business Visitor stream
