PTE which is commonly referred to as Pearson Language Tests, is an English assessment test taken for checking the English language ability of non-native English speakers. It is broadly divided into categories named as PTE Academic, PTE general and PTE Young learners. These exams are accredited by QCA.
The exam includes speaking, writing, listening and reading modules. Particularly, candidates take this test to get admission in to the best of the educational institutions abroad. The students have to score certain set of marks to become eligible for study visa.
The first section of the test is speaking and writing. The time given to students is generally from 77 to 93 minutes. In the writing part, the students have to write an essay in 20 minutes. The reading part takes 32 to 41 minutes and the listening section takes around 45 to 57 minutes.
The candidates are asked to give their personal introduction, read aloud the sentences provided, repeating the sentences, describing a chart and retelling a lecture.
In writing, the students will be given an essay to write along with summarizing the texts.
There are different types of questions in listening section like selecting the missing word, MCQs, highlighting the incorrect words, highlighting the correct summary.
PTE General is divided in to several levels such as A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, and C2 Levels 4 and 5 are given recognition by the various Universities in UK and also by numerous prosperous universities and companies worldwide. In the test the candidates have to deal with the questions on real life tasks. Besides this, the PTE test help in evaluating the student’s capability of grasping presentations, understanding the core concepts and how to write messages.
