Post Study Visa

Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485) : When an international Student completes his/her 2 years Diploma or a Bachelor or Master Course degree then he/she has the option of this Temporary Graduate Visa. The Graduate Temporary visa has study and full time work options available for him .So this visa can be applied by international student after completing at least 24 months of study in Australia. Further this visa is divided into two streams

This visa is for international students who have recently completed their Qualification from an Australian institution. It lets you live, work and study in Australia, temporarily. This visa is valid for 2-4 years.

485 - Graduate Work stream

• You can bring your family with you
• Your family can work, study or can travel to and from Australia Eligibility for this visa
• Who has completed two years of study
• Occupation listed on MTSSL
• Relevant skill assessment in the particular occupation

SUBSQUENT ENTRANT OF 485

You can include a spouse and dependent children when you make your 485 visa application. This would include de facto spouses - where you live with your partner, but are not married. To include dependents, they must be in Australia when you lodge your 485 application and they must hold or have recently held student visas. You can also apply to have dependents join you after your 485 visa is granted. This is referred to as a "subsequent entrant" application. This is a really useful pathway if you get married after you apply for your 485, or if your partner or children did not travel with you to Australia on student visas or at the time of lodging they were not included in the application, they can apply as subsequent entrant.
