Victoria 190 visa criteria
To support Victoria’s economic recovery and health response, there have been new changes to the nomination program. This program will open on 5 January 2021. Victoria will only select applicants who meet the below critirea and are contributing to Victoria’s economic recovery and/or health response.
Eligibility
- Already be living in Victoria
- Already be working in Victoria (minimum 6 months employment)
- See Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190) for further information.
Victoria will be opening it’s 2020-21 Victorian skilled visa nomination program (subclass 190 and 491) on 5 January 2021.
Victoria will also be changing the way they select applicants to apply for Victorian visa nomination, with a new process that will focus on talent and contribution to Victoria’s economic recovery, as well as information in your Expression of Interest (EOI). This change aims to be responsive to challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic, with a focus on the state’s economic recovery.
Submission windows
Victoria will now be accepting ROIs in submission windows – set timeframes in which you can submit your ROIs. Once a submission window closes, you will need to wait for the next submission window to submit your ROI.
If you are not selected immediately after your submission window, you will still be considered for future selection.

Nomination criteria changes
The eligibility requirements for both the Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491) and the Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190) visas have changed. You must carefully read the requirements before you submit your application.
To be eligible to be considered for selection to apply for Victorian skilled visa nomination, you must meet the criteria outlined below:
